NSS Publicity Week Report 2015-2016

As per the direction of the State Liaison Officer, NSS, Government of Maharashtra, the NSS Cell, University of Mumbai, Wada College of Management & Science celebrated ‘NSS Publicity Week’ from 24th September to 2nd October, 2015, i.e. from ‘NSS Foundation Day’ to ‘Gandhi Jayanti – International Non-violence Day’ celebration by hosting NSS Flag followed by NSS Song.

‘NSS Foundation Day’ was begun with the Flag hosting by Prof. Khandekar Sir, Area Coordinator, Palghar region. Respected Principal was also present during the event. NSS volunteers sung NSS Song ‘Uthe Samaj ke liye’ after the flag hosting.

Prof. Khandekar Sir guided the all the NSS volunteers about NSS foundation, NSS meaning with logo & slogan. He motivated the volunteers by sharing his own experiences throughout his life. He confers the activities planned for rest of the NSS publicity week. He also gave brief of all NSS activities we do for the period of academics. The session ended with NSS Clap.

On 25th September, 2015 – ‘Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan’. The day was planned to motivate the villagers about cleanliness. Prof. Dipesh Pashte delivered the lecture on the same day at adopted village Harosale with the many effective stories to motivate all villagers to keep clean & to live healthy life. He was taught about plastics bags harms & how it affects our environments. All villagers listen him carefully & after that all the volunteers as well as villagers cleaned surroundings.

On 26th September, 2015. – ‘HIV/AIDS : awareness’. Under the guidance of  Miss. Shikha Madam, Volunteers performed a very effective short Act on HIV/AIDS in front of Villagers in adopted village & one of the volunteer Miss. Harshali Raut delivered a lecture in local language to villagers about how to be safe & protected from HIV/AIDS. All villagers as well as other students have taken benefit of Act & lectures.

On 27th September, 2015. – ‘Women Dignity’. As we all know that women having great importance & respect in our society for her sacrifices & way of living. Women can do all the stuff today as equivalent as men. On this day our NSS Unit was arranged a Seminar on ‘Women Empowerment’ for all girls under the ‘Women Development Cell’ committee of our college. The Seminar was based on “Gender Sensitivity” with the respected speakers Mrs. Varsha Phatarpekar, Adiwasi Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, Kudus.

On 28th September, 2015. – “Road Safety”.  It is better to be safe earliest rather than to get hurt later on. Major number of todays death are happening because of unsafe driving & not following the traffic rules. On ‘Road Safety’ event during publicity week, PSI – Aawte, Sub Inspector, Wada. Dist- Palghar was aware all the students about how to be safe on road with his real life examples & experiences. All the students was satisfied & agreed with PSI-Aawte during conversation. PSI looked all the Posters, Banners & Slogans made by NSS Volunteers on the same day.

On 29th September, 2015. – “Health & Hygein” : On this day of NSS publicity week our NSS Unit invited Dr. Suvarna & his team from Government Hospital, Wada to address all the students about healthy life & better living with fitness. Dr. Suvarna presented her reports & cure from Maleria & other dieses which are not having any pre-cure injections. She told the details of Maleria & its symptoms & then she told about how to take better care about such dieses in daily life. Dr. Suvarna shared her Images of such dieses & cure with students on that day. Students was happy after getting all the meaningful information & promised to shared the same with other friends & family to make everyone healthy & fit.

On 30th September, 2015. – “Peace & Non-Violence” : A very Important aspect in our daily life is to get relaxation & peace to mind. We all are working continuously & our life is becoming full of tension as the time passing. It lead to violence somewhere after disturbance. To keep in view all these things our NSS Unit invited ‘Om Shanti’ Brahmkumari Shantiben & Brahmkumar Patil from Khandeshwari Naka, Wada. They shared all their thoughts in form of stories & examples so students can understand better. They told about Peace of Mind as well as how it regulates our behavior to control violence. We all need Peace & Non-violence in our day to day life to get healthy lifestyle.

On 1st October, 2015. – “Rally : ANTI-DRUG” –

On the day of Rally NSS Volunteers was made Banners with efficient slogans & short messages. Rally was enrooted from college to nearby villages. Volunteers was loudly prompting slogans for villagers to keep away from the drug & similar things. In rally there were more than 65 participants with full of energy. Systematically rally was returned to college at the end & attended one Play on Anti-Drug. The Play was organized by ‘Om-Shanti’ group & our ex-students were participated in the Play as shown in following picture.

2nd October, 2015. – “Street Play on Swacchata”

On this day as per the importance of the day of  ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ & appeal by our honorable Prime Minister about ‘Keep Clean, Be Clean’ for Swaccha Bharat, NSS Unit of  Wada College of  Management & Science organized Street Play at College Campus as well as at Wada Bus Stand to aware people about cleanliness. The motto of the play was clear that we have to keep our area clean for the better health & to avoid unnecessary dieses.

Wada College of Management & Science, NSS volunteers accomplished the successful NSS publicity week as per the university guidelines & the State Liaison Officer, NSS, Government of Maharashtra, the NSS Cell, University of Mumbai. All the staff & students were contribute very well during the whole publicity week. Respected Principal Dr. Smt. Snehal S. Donde Madam & Chairman Mr. Yogesh Gandhe sir directed and supported to all participants throughout the entire activities.
