NSS Annual Report of Academic Year 2014-15

The NSS scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 24th September 1969. “NOT ME, BUT YOU” the Motto of NSS reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service appreciation of others person’s point of view. The Programme of NSS aims to beat social welfare in students.

NSS Volunteers works to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhanced their standard of living and lead a life of self-respect. Foremost important is to develop feeling for social responsibility.

NSS-symbolThe Symbol of NSS is based on the “Rath”(wheel) of the Konark Sun Temple Situated in Orissa. The objectives of NSS are to understand the community in which they work, understand themselves  in relation to their community, Identify the needs and problems of community and involve them in problem solving process, develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among themselves, acquire leadership qualities, develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disaster etc. NSS volunteers also involved in Blood Donation and traffic control whenever required.

In the year 2014-2015, Wada College of Management & Science, Harosale, Wada, National Service Scheme appointed Assistant Professor Mr. Prashant Jadhav as Programme Officer. To compile one unit of 50 volunteers, Notice was displayed on the notice board and as per the number of applications the NSS PO selected 50 volunteers for Mumbai University National Service Scheme Unit. The List was sent for enrollment to the University NSS Office.

The beginning of the WCMS NSS Unit, for all volunteers who was elected, the work has been distributed of Awareness for true and beneficial things among people and help to needy people.

2nd August, 2014 :- The Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti celebrated. Mr. Yogesh Gandhe, Chairman of Wada Nirmiti Education Trust share words about Gandhi Satyagrah, Non-Violence etc. Volunteers did the Cleaning at Harosale college Campus and performed street play on : “Swaccha Bharat Sundar Bharat” at Wada Bus Stand got lots of applause.

15th August, 2014 :- Wada college of Management & Science Students were performed a street play on “Beti Bachao”. NSS Volunteers actively participated during this Play.

02nd January, 2015. :- DISASTER MANAGEMENT

We accomplished Disaster Management Training for our NSS volunteers and all college students on the focus of FIRE DISASTER in the guidance of Mr. Avinash Rasal, The Fire Officer, 360° Security, Wada. The session began with the preface of Fire types and causes of Fire. The region of training was enclose with the CO2 cylinders and other equipments needed to show the matter-of-fact of the fire. After the theoretical beginning Mr. Avinash showed actual situation regarding to Fire possibilities and then he revealed that how to handle the circumstances in real time of Fire arise. One CO2 Cylinders was also given to the various students for handling on the real fire. The experiment conducted on the artificial fire generated by Mr. Avinash. The schedule was with reference to Fire Disaster and successfully accomplished throughout the session.

3rd January, 2015. :-

NSS Unit celebrated the Mrs. Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Birth Centenary in college. Student Mr. Adhikari Sagar, Miss. Sujata Shelar, Miss. Ruchita Ingle and Miss. Harshali Raut deliver speech on the efforts of Mrs. Phule for Girls Education as well as women influence in society.

6th January, 2015. :-

NSS volunteers organized Painting and Rangoli Competition for all students of WCMS college. Students were actively participated in competition, they were happy for such activity take place in college.

08th January, 2015 :- BLOOD DONATION CAMP.

On the 7th January, 2015, we the “Wada College of Management & Science” organized a successful Blood Donation Camp in our Campus. Blood Donation is an important and foremost sense of duty of every human being which saves the life of many humans who needs it in urgent situation.

The team who supports us for Blood donation camp was came from Kalyan, Sankalp Blood & Component Bank with the reference of Think Foundation. During Blood Donation all NSS volunteers and college staff supported very well throughout the whole activity.

Total No. of Blood Bottles = 53.

Total No. of  Thalassemia Test = 130+

The above figures really make us to feel proud that we all together fulfilled such a pleasant effort under National Service Scheme.
