Seminar held on “Consumer Rights”

Wada Nirmiti Education Society’s, Wada College of Management and Science organised a seminar on “Consumer Rights” for the college students, in the conference Hall of Wada college of Management and Science.

Mr. Sanjay Shah, The President of  ‘Wada Taluka  Grahak Manch’ was invited as a resource person.

The seminar initiated at 10 am. Ms. Shikha Bagaria, N.S.S.  Programme Officer, introduced Mr. Sanjay Shah and he was welcome by Mr. Yogesh Gandhe,  The Chairman, WNES’s Wada College of Management and Science.

Mr. Shah first spoke on the Consumer Act,1980. He effectively imparted the information regarding various rights of consumers which are given to us by the Consumer Act, 1980. With the help of slide show and various day-to-day examples he inculcated the significance of Consumer rights. He explained the importance of right to safety, right to be informed, right to be heard, right to seek redressal, right to consumer education.

He also explained the procedure for filing a complaint at each level of consumer forum (i.e., District level, State level and National level).

He created awareness regarding “what to do” and “what not to do” while purchasing any product. He conducted the session in a very friendly manner which helped the students to be frank and ask the queries. Prof. Deepali Panchal expressed the vote of thanks on behalf of  Wada College of Management and Science.
